Wine was already being produced in Podersdorf am See in Roman times. Almost every local family works and nutures their own vineyard.
Fruity white wines and full-bodied reds are pressed from the grapes in the Podersdorf am See area. Over-ripe, shrunken, botrytis grapes are turned into a liquid treasure. This unique sweet wine, called Eiswein, is known the world over. Taste award-winning, nationally and internationally recognised wines at Weinclub 21, our local vinotheque, or directly at the wine-maker.
Many wine-related events worth a visit are staged all year round. Start with the Pannonian Spring festival in April, followed by the Sun-Wine-Jazz and the Wine-Growers festival in summer, and end with the traditional Martiniloben with the new wines in late autumn.
