A glass of wine. Watching the lake. And a blanket that keeps you warm and cozy when it´s getting cold. “Cold” however, is a broad term here in Podersdorf. It is possible that in October there are still 20°C. And yet: it is autumn. One could think that now a quieter season is starting around the lake. Well, if you think that you don´t know Podersdorf´s residents very well.
Around November 11, Podersdorf´s wine makers open their doors to celebrate the traditional Martiniloben, where people from everywhere come to the lake to taste the new wine. But that´s not the only event about wine in autumn; in September, you get the chance to admire the wine maker´s harvest at the event Wine in Autumn. At this event you talk shop, taste, gossip and laugh accompanied by the red, yellow and orange vine leaves – the perfect way to slowly escape from everyday life.
The greatest happiness on earth
You know where this is going… exactly: is sitting in the saddle of a horse. Once you have been on a long ride through the region Seewinkel and enjoyed the autumnal colors, you will understand why horse lovers choose to come to Lake Neusiedl.

That´s what the residents of Podersdorf thought and so they organize two events in autumn that do not really relate to one another at first glance. The fist one is named KunstKürbisKeller (art, pumpkin, cellar); there is wine and pumpkin delicacies. And the second one is the x cross run, Austria´s most fun obstacle course. So you can see: there is something for everyone. The two events may not fit together, but they do fit perfectly to Podersdorf.
Good food, good talk, good wine. And then speeding up again and doing sports and exercises. Cuisine and sports; that not only fits together at Lake Neusiedl, it belongs together.
