Kitesurfing has become very trendy due to its huge potential for thrills and fun.
In this extreme sport, a kite is used to pull a kiteboard across the water. The kiter stands on the board and is pulled through the water by the kite.
Lake Neusiedl is one of the best locations to learn kitesurfing, due to the shallowness of the water and constancy of the wind. The fact that one can stand everywhere in the lake makes it easy to learn kitesurfing here, in comparison with spots with minimal or no possibility of standing in the water. The huge advantage for beginners is that they can get used to the pulling power of the kite, without losing a grip on the ground.
Modern windsurfing centre
The North Beach in Podersdorf am See has been recently renovated and is now the most modern windsurfing centre in the region – it becomes a Mecca for the windsurfing scene when the wind conditions are right.
The great wind conditions, especially in spring and autumn, are just as attractive. Even though there is no wind guarantee, the wind statistics speak for themselves!
The North Beach offers students, holiday guests and day visitors an attractive, large area: The nucleus is the windsurfing school with a seminar room, a surfing shop and changing rooms with hot and cold water showers. A restaurant and beach cafeteria complete the picture. In addition, storage boxes for equipment are available nearby and are hired out on a daily or weekly basis. Windsurfing guests can store their equipment here and are thus ready to go!
Most commonly there is a brisk, often gusty, north-westerly onshore wind, which is perfect for all water sports. Less often, and not to be underestimated, a strong southerly wind blows and creates waves of up to several meters. Whether expert or beginner, you will find the optimal wind and water conditions for your enjoyment.
