Excellent wine from Podersdorf

Wine-growing has always been important in Podersdorf am See.

The Lake Neusiedl region has a lot to offer: For epicures, and those who aspire to be!

Hot summers and mild late autumn days together with the humidity of Lake Neusiedl provide conditions for the ripening of high quality grapes. Fruity white wines and full-bodied reds are pressed from the grapes in the Podersdorf am See area.

Over-ripe, shrunken, botrytis grapes are turned into a liquid treasure. This unique sweet wine, called Eiswein, is known the world over. The Spring Awakening in April and Martiniloben in November provide great opportunities to taste the local wines.

Delightful red & white wines

Taste award-winning, nationally and internationally recognised wines at Weinclub 21, our local vinotheque, or directly at the wine-maker. Many wine-related events worth a visit are staged all year round.

Wine-growing has always been important in Podersdorf am See – wine was already being produced here in Roman times.

Almost every local family works and nutures their own vineyard. The vineyards cover an area of approximately 450 ha. The Winemakers´ Association was founded in 1921 and has 130 members.

Wine Makers´ Association Podersdorf am See - Weinclub 21. Wines from 21 Podersdorf wine growers are available to taste and buy at direct-from-the-farm prices – whether you are looking for something fruity, a particular variety or a cuvée . A highlight in summer is a sunset cruise on lake with a wine-tasting on the boat.
