Podersdorf lighthouse

About us

The lighthouse is located on the western edge of the village and at the small harbor of Podersdorf am See. At a height of around twelve meters, it stands out clearly from the flat landscape of the Neusiedl Basin. Originally built as an orientation aid and to transmit storm warnings for water sports enthusiasts, it has since become a popular destination for tourists and is a very popular photo motif. However, it is not possible to visit the inside of the tower!

- the responsible duties of a night watchman and his social position in the past
