Day trip in autumn at Lake Neusiedl

Nice and slowly the autumn moves into the country.

The days are getting shorter, the temperatures cooler. And more peace and quiet returns to the lake. Autumn is the ideal time to enjoy nature to the fullest. How a varied day in Podersdorf am See in September or October could look like, we show you here. Whether with children, friends or sports enthusiasts, the village has a lot to offer for everyone.

A relaxed and at the same time action-packed family day out in Podersdorf am See could look something like this.

  • Grab a bike and explore the beautiful area around Podersdorf am See and the adjacent national park. In the village there are three bike stores incl. bike rental.
  • Small & big puzzle crackers get their money's worth with exciting puzzle rallies. There are three different tours that can be completed on foot or by bike.
  • Treat yourself to a delicious lunch or ice cream, cake & coffee at the SUNBAY restaurant in the middle of the PODOBEACH lido overlooking Lake Neusiedl.
  • After the break, playing, climbing & sliding are on the agenda. The unique playground of the PODOplay family adventure world promises boundless fun and adventure.
  • Finally, you could end the day comfortably in one of our family-friendly Heurigen.
  • You should definitely watch the sunset on the pier near the lighthouse. There you will surely take a breathtaking photo for the family album.

For sporty active people & people looking for recreation

  • Getting up early in the morning is worth it: the silence in the morning by the water is balm for the soul. You can best enjoy this incomparable tranquility during a long walk along the shore of Lake Neusiedl, or even better - directly on the water. Rent a sailboat or stand up paddle board and glide silently across the lake. Head off, relaxation on.
  • Alternatively, you can take an extended bike tour in the Seewinkel region, and for the more athletically motivated, perhaps even a full lap around Lake Neusiedl. Sunday cyclists shorten the tour with the bicycle ferry across the lake.
  • Between all the sporting activities, don't forget your physical well-being! Some wine taverns, restaurants, cafes and bars are also happy about your visit in autumn.
  • Treat yourself to a special kind of end to the day. In the Podersdorf salt cave at the end of the day it is: relax, feel good and breathe deeply.

Pleasure & Culture

  • For guests interested in history and technology, we recommend a visit to the Podersdorf windmill. The lovingly restored, fully functional flour mill can be visited as part of an interesting, entertaining guided tour.
  • Afterwards, a round of hand golf could be on the agenda. Equipped with a ball and instructions (available at the tourist office), you can walk or ride a bike through the village.
  • After so much exercise in the fresh air, it's time to take a break. Treat yourself to a delicious lunch at one of our Podersdorf innkeepers to recharge your batteries.
  • What should not be missing during a culinary visit to Podersdorf am See? Correct - a visit to the vinotheque or a vintner. If you want to taste wines from different vintners at one location, the exclusive Weinclub 21 is just the right place.
