The Amber Trail

The experience

Follow in the footsteps of the Romans along the myth-enshrouded Roman Amber Road and marvel at the diverse culture and nature of the Lake Neusiedl region and Burgenland as a whole.

The Bernstein Trail takes you from the Carnuntum legionary camp across Lake Neusiedl to the Roman burial mounds near St. Martin an der Raab in southern Burgenland. Step by step, you will discover the treasures of the entire Burgenland region along the trail. You hike through the unique Lake Neusiedl - Seewinkel National Park, have the option of crossing Lake Neusiedl by ferry, pass countless cultural monuments and immerse yourself in the idyllic landscape of Burgenland and Hungary.
