About us

Sand and gravel with occasional thin humus layers are characteristic of the soils of our vineyards. We cultivate vines of different character on them, but the Burgundian varieties Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, as well as Welschriesling, so traditional in our wine-growing region, are important.

The winemaker-host Josef Lentsch now gets support from his daughter Christine Lentsch and her partner Andreas, who, as graduates of various wine schools, bring a breath of fresh air into the classic gratitude repertoire.

To approach the powerful wines of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir aged in small wooden barrels, the full-fruited Welschriesling, the fragrant Muskat and the two house wines - cuvées in red and white, each with a large Burgundy share - can provide pleasant services. As a conclusion to a tasting, the Trockenbeerenauslesen are recommended, which are predominantly vinified from Pinot Gris and/or Welschriesling, almost every year.

All wines of the "Gratitude" can be tasted during the opening hours of the new vinotheque in the Podersdorfer Weinstuben.
